Grown

All through my teenage years i had always struggled with bad skin condition such as an oily T zone, acne, scars, enlarged pores =( sadly now in adulthood and still battling the same issue.

I do admit I am the worst person in the universe when it comes to shopping for skin care. There is just so much problems with my skin, i just dont know where to start, I feel aggravated and have lost all faith that any special cream would help my skin... or no money in the world can fix my skin dilemma. Then i suddenly realised that i will be turning 30 in a few years, and if i dont have a goal to fix it now, it would be too late in the end...(I know something i should have thought about before i hit 25)

Sigh* Therefore just few months ago i decided to take matters into my own hands (woot woot!) so i did some research, read few reviews and came across a brand that had me at “organic”called - Grown Alchemist. I had never tried anything 'Organic' on my skin before, so i thought its worth a try.

I read their reviews, was curious to know what all the fuss was about. I purchased the facial kit which costs me about AUD $59.95 and it contains the moisturiser, toner, serum, lip balm. I loved the packaging, designed in an old school pharmacy bottles that you could buy at an old vintage drug store plus the bottles would be an awesome decor for my new bathroom. I am not going to get my hopes up, and i am not expecting over night results. This could be the beginning of my daily skin care regime, here’s hoping that i can keep it up. I will be giving my reviews on these products soon

Im Back =)

My in-laws have left, as many of you know they were here for nearly 2 months on holiday, and accommodated with us in our brand new home. To make their stay more hospitable i gave up my new bedroom therefore i was living out of boxes. I did not have any time for blogging, or posting an outfit. If i was at home i was constantly working with my mother n law in the kitchen, (being that perfect house wife, as you do) and if it was the weekend i was super busy being their tour guide or holding their shopping bags. I will try my best to attempt to post everyday now or at least 3 times a week. This was a fun welcome back shoot i did at my new home to get back into my life and blog. The MEOW bag I’m holding is so kitsch.

what is kitsch- it is a fashion trend that uses cartoon like images, prominent pop of colour, think of glittery green boots, Moschino for MacDonald’s, or Lego clutches.
You can also purchase one from Colette for only $19.95 if you, know/love Kitch Accessories then it is one of a must have piece for your wardrobe.

Newyork dreaming

It’s one of those mornings where everything felt like a drag. It was cold, and I was on struggle street, starting with getting out of my cosy bed, then getting ready for work, to getting out of my house in time to catch my train.

The train to and from work takes me, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, in that time i get to catch up on my dose of stalking on instagram, and listen to my genre of music which mainly consists of old school rock. A pretty good blast to my ears early morning, if you ask me.

This time last year i was looking forward to my trip to USA, on my way to work every morning i would chat to my cousins over whatsapp, to plan on the places we would go to visit around NYC, and the many bars we would party at, and shopping...oh the shopping. It was always a good way to start the day. This year however, no holidays planned, nothing to get excited about, just going about my usual robotic ways...work-sleep-work repeat... n the #inspiration pictures below just aren’t helping the situation....i think i need to start preparing an impromptu trip to NYC this year somehow..

One of many black pairs...

There is always something about a black pair of heels that sets me back. It’s a closet basic and versatile, and is worth investing in. Here are few of my favourite in my shoerobe...

Guests

There is something i have left out, something i still haven’t mentioned in this blog which i feel that i must share with you all now. That is, since the end of June my in-laws arrived from overseas on a vacation and staying with us for the next 2 months, I have also moved into my new home to accommodate their stay (more about that soon).

Their arrival means that my daily routines changed slightly, time for blogging/shoots has reduced, more family outing has increased, always being mindful about my choice of outfit is a must (ripped jeans MY CLOSET STAPLE =( body hugging clothing, or exposing too much skin is a big no- no in this family!!!) my diet is screwed, however on the flip side there is more food in my fridge J

In the beginning i was in doubt whether they would adjust to the way of life here, Australian climate, people, given that they come from a very traditional background, a country where all women depend on their men. Their prime minister is a woman; however feminism is always a topic of contradiction. Sigh* my mother n law has never stepped outside of the house without being accompanied by my father n law or my brothers n law. She has always been a housewife, and cooked and cleaned and looked after her three sons. She doesnt hold a degree, or has never worked in a professional work environment before. However what amazes me is her record of knowledge, on just about everything, ask her any topic she will give you a run down.

A small, quiet women with a demeanour like no other, she has class and appears to be very sophisticated. They have settled in, and are starting to understand our discipline, work-home-eat-sleep-work-repeat, & for that i am grateful. Maybe my ripped denims can wait a little for now...

nomcore part 1

Ever since the trend ‘Nomcore’ a fashion faux pas rocked the runways, fashion weeks and other fashion related events (the trend has been on everyone’s lips or more like in everyone’s wardrobes) neutral tones, blacks, whites, greys, loose fitting trousers, man style track pants, and sneakers etc It speaks comfortable styling. Immensely i favour comfort over pain when it comes to fashion. My wardrobe consists of more mostly blacks, my selection of heels doesn’t go past 4 inches, and boyfriend jeans are my best friend. I love the masculine look with a little feminine stroke. Therefore the evolution of the trend nomcore was a big sigh of relief to styling my outfits.
To create the look below I’m wearing my mix apparel shirt, it is the most incredible fit, and for the price i believe the quality of the fabric is 10/10. You could team this up with a white blazer and loafers for work or distressed denim for the weekends.

Mix Apparel for Coles

Coles is the first ever supermarket to bring apparel into their aisles! And with the prices this good! I believe it needs to be featured on this blog.

Free shipping if you purchase over $50 and nothing over $39.95, what more could you want? Decided upon the two items below, chambray jumpsuit for $29.95, and this button down shirt for $25, this has definitely brightened up my depressing monday morning blues. Will be wearing them, on those casual friday night drinks, or a weekend away. Another plus point, they will definitely be taking me from winter all through to summer =)

Spots on Spots

Fashion mags, celebrity stylists, and fashion blogs are always advertising variety ways to wear prints; after examining magazine articles and other fashion blogs of how to mix and clash prints.

I was inspired to try spots on spots. Mainly because it was a safer mix of print than any others but with a twist i decided to play with the size of the spots to create this look Then decided upon wearing the larger spots on top and smaller spots on the bottom, this was to breakdown the print, and take the focus away from excessively looking like a Dalmatian. what do you think?  or do i look like a dalmation?

ASOS

The first time i was introduced to Asos.com or (any other online store for that matter), i was a little sceptical. I wasn’t convinced on taking the risk to buy something and assume the size, hemline or the quality of the fabric? Also if i didn’t like the clothes i would have had to send them back and I’m ridiculously lazy when it comes to all that commotion.

This little hesitation went on for quite some time. With enough courage, one day i decided to give it a go. I went onto the Asos website, staring at pieces that i wanted, saving them to my cart, then purposely staring at them again. Asos has the “runway” feature  with a model, modelling the item which helps to judge the piece whether it would be a good fit for your closet.
I then, added few of my saved items to my cart, and audaciously punched Order submit. Then anxiously waited for my parcel, surprisingly enough it arrived faster than expected, within 4 days as opposed to 7 days (later found out it’s because my shipping address falls between Sydney’s metro areas) I opened the package and went straight into checking if the products fit me, (i think i prayed to few gods that day, i know it’s a little dramatic)................. (cue for whistle) somehow it magically fit me! From that day forward i am hooked on ASOS! the products, and trends are so up to date, and there are millions of items you can buy (this includes ASOS marketplace) best for vintage finds. Thanks to ASOS, my perception towards online shopping changed. I think i buy at least one Asos product every week.  Here are few items i have purchased in the past week/months/ etc.

Found the coat

Friday morning sleep in’s are such rare commodity, thankfully last Friday i was able to do just that, because i had taken the day off work from work. I woke up to sunshine, and a crisp clear winter morning.

First thing on my to do list, was to go driving with my instructor. I know, i know, I’m 27 and i have no licence, What a Shame! My exam is coming up, so it’s only fair to cram all the road rules last minute. I really do, feel guilty about not having a licence and appreciate the kindness and effort people put into “picking me up and dropping me off” for the past 10 years (you know who you are). I promise to repay the debt as soon as i get my provisional’s. Sadly , the training did not go too well as i had expected ;( my instructor thinks i should push back my exam as i am not confident enough with the road rules- Bugger.

I imagine my day offs to just giving myself that "me" time, a coffee and a good magazine always seem promising. So i sat at my local cafe, and drank my skinny cap and read my Elle magazine flipping through the glossy pages, registering what the next upcoming trends would be, what i should be jotting down on my shopping list, and what to brag about on my social media pages. With all this study, i became famished for some retail therapy. I strolled around, browsing, and scouring  store to store, until i came across Portmans. They had $50 off their winter jackets and that is when i found the camel coloured jacket that i was longing for such a long time. The tailored cut, fabric, and quality, and price were all that i had imagined it to be.

I was overflowing with excitement, i felt like i won a prize for the first time in my life or something. Ever since the morning, with my instructor, i was a little disappointed however finding this little gem had made my day!

Pearl Choker

This little gem has been on my wishlist, ever since i saw it featured Chanel SS/14 runway. Then surprisingly, Zara international made an identical version, which i missed out on purchasing because it was sold out within 24 hours in the store.

But never fear- ebay is here!!! I bought this beauty for $9.00 AUD can you believe it! I will be teaming this up with everything from boyfriend jeans, to lace, to leathers and skirts. Cant wait for its arrival.

Here is the link for those who wish to buy one. Happy shopping my lovelies =)

Snippets from the weekend

This weekend, i've taken my mummy out on a shopping/brunch date where we consumed a plate of Mac and cheese, plus a bowl of shoestring fries together; it was a fatty Saturday indeed. Followed by shopping at Trade secret i found a snug fur coat. I cannot wait to wear it on upcoming colder days. Ended the day with a bunch of fresh flowers from the local florist.

I really think there should be another day in between Saturday and Sunday. Two day weekends are just never enough.

Friday

Fridays are different, than other days of the week. The feeling of the weekend fast approaching puts everyone on a good mood. People dress their personalities on Fridays.
Indistinguishable to the way they dress, people have more of a casual approach
I am almost nearing 2 years at my current place of work and in my time here, i don’t think i have ever seen my General Manager in a bad mood on a Friday, or my team for that matter no matter how stressful the day is going.

some bad news are better given on Fridays because it lightens situations and can mull over on the weekend. The pubs, bars, and restaurants are chock-a-block and the air is just fine and dandy on a Friday. In this post i decided to share with you all my favourite looks for a Casual Friday, crisp shirts, and fuzzy knits, jeans are to name a few of my favourite Friday attire.
PS- i still havent found my Tan/camel coloured coat ;(

Mission to find the Tan coat

I went out looking for a good, quality winter coat the other day;I was on the lookout for a camel/tan colored one, very well structured, with collar, midi in length, and boyfriend cut.
I wandered around from store to store dropping by Topshop, Zara, Witchery, and Portmans ( your general chain stores) and to my surprise I could not find a single one, (you would think that it would be a popular color and trend during this time of winter)

After about 2 hours of wandering around, i gave up! thinking i could go home, get into bed comfortably, with my laptop and i would surely find something online. But guess what, after searching online for 2 days- still nothing, or if i had found one, they didn't have stock in my size.

The frustration is killing me! If anyone out there that is nice enough to find one please pass the information this way... it would mean alot to me. In the mean time here are few inspirations that have appeared on my radar.

Misc

1- Last weekend, went on a roadtrip to Hunter valley with my close friends. The plan was to drive there do some wine tasting at different wine estates and then finish off at Tintilla winery estate with a cheese platter and drink some more till sunset :)
Due to circumstances which was major priority, we had to rechedule the cheese platter. However we did manage to trial 3 wineries in a space of 3 hours, and in all 3 wineries we bought cases of reds and whites. More reds than whites, which was a surprise because we realised our taste for good wine was becoming more mature with our age, and we opted for more of the less sweeter versions.

Hunter valley is few hours away from sydney so theres is always next time for my cheese platter

2- Altered my crash diet to a healther diet. After hearing from so many people that i am starting to look a little dry, i am startng to get few wrinkles under my eyes, and also someone random asked me if i was sick?! irealised my regular crash diet was taking a big toll on my skin. I started to research about skin products, food for glowing skin, an beaut regime. After tremoundous amounts of research i decided to eat for my skin, by also focusing on my body. I also read that another reason for skin changing is due to improper diet. I actually cant afford to have bad skin than i already do, especially in this industry. You guys can follow my journey, i will be posting up things i learn along the way, more about this chapter in my upcoming posts, OK guys?! until next time.........

Winter is coming

Hi guys, sorry i havent been posting so much in my blog lately. The below pics were taken last month. I know, im not efficient here as i am in my instagram/facebook page. I know as a blogger i should be updating frequently at all my social media pages, but i have been slacking off big time lately. Also another reason i have been so pre occpied with my time is because i have been catching up on Game of Thrones. Is everyone watching it? OMG i am addicted ( the black shrug) i am wearing in the pics below reminds me of "The Crows" in GOT, (those watching GOT would know what i mean by that term).

The below pics were from my stay at my dads in Oberon over the easter holidays. I decided to take some snaps of my outfit since the opportunity was there. anyways, Happy 1st day of May everyone =)
